Halfway Through Fall
My last Fall Semester!

My dearest friends and family, we are only a month away from Christmas break! Students are studying like crazy, and we are running around trying to serve them. Here’s what’s been going on:
Freshmen Fellowship
Every fall semester, we do something called Freshmen Fellowship, which is our freshmen Bible study. Daniel and Emily have been teaching through the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew every week. We gather for some outdoor games and then go into our teaching. We have about 25 freshmen students who come, which makes it a perfect opportunity for them to get connected to each other! In September, I got to teach one of the lessons! I taught over Matthew 5:33-37 where Jesus shows us the importance of keeping our word. I was so nervous about teaching, but God was faithful. My freshman girls were so encouraging, and I had a lot of fruitful discussions with them later on about what honesty looks like living day-to-day in college.

New Staff

Surprise!! We have a new staff person joining us! Zach Fiol has moved to Clemson and will be hopping on as a Campus Assistant for the next couple of years. He’s currently in Seminary, but will be helping us with full-time ministry in the Spring. For now, he is fundraising before he can join us on campus. If any of you would like to contribute to his fundraising efforts, please reach out to me!
Student Highlight

Rose, what a bundle of joy she is! Rose is one of our sophomore leaders on our Freshmen Outreach Team. She is always ready to volunteer for things and has such a deep desire for all of our freshmen to know each other and the Lord deeply. Her heart for the lost is something I love so much about her. A couple of weeks ago, she texted me and let me know how excited she was about the potential that one of her non-believing friends was softening to conversations about the gospel. Rose reminds me that my students are not the future of Christ’s Church, but ARE the Church!! She is running the race and loving the Lord! I really hope she does the internship!
Large Group/Small Groups
Daniel is continuing his study through 1 John this semester! Our Large Group has been pretty consistent in the 150 range. One of my go-to questions in a 1-1 this semester has been what my students think about the passages that we are going through in LG. It’s been great to think through some of the different themes that we are talking about, and to see how my girls are taking it to campus!
My Psalms Bible study has been AWESOME! I love my girls! Today, we will be looking at Psalm 51 and what it means and looks like to repent. We’ve gone through some pretty tough topics like jealousy, doubt, and sorrow. I’m sometimes nervous to see what my girls think about certain verses and the severity they portray, but they are very understanding of Scripture and are always willing to talk through some of their doubts. This has definitely been my favorite study to lead during the internship!
Fall Conference

Fall Conference was a blast!! Clemson RUF spent a week with three other campuses at Camp Greystone in NC. We played games, studied Scripture, prayed together, and rested in God’s beauty. We looked at what it means to be justified by Christ alone and not by any of our own works or the world. This is something that our students have heard time and time again, but it is such a great reminder that we need to hear every day. We had about thirty frehsmen come. All of the girls connected so well, planning future hangouts! One of my favorite parts of this job is being able to help facilitate events where our students can minister to each other, really taking hold of their own faith. Thank you for helping make that happen!
Fundraising!
I am so thankful to have all of you backing me up in ministry this year! The Lord has been so gracious through each of you, which encourages me as I go onto campus.
I am $9,000 away from reaching my yearly fundraising goal! So close, but the work is not done yet! I was reminded at Intern Training that if I go into deficit with my account in the last 3 months of the internship, I will be terminated immediately. With that in mind, I will be reaching out to some of you for the end-of-year one-time gifts. I want you to know that I do not ask this lightly. I am so thankful that each of you generously gives from your own funds! I wish that there were a way that I could repay you, but I hope you know that the Lord delights in you and the ministry that you are funding! This is the final stretch before I finish up ministry with RUF.
